Explore Bermuda
Without leaving London and the UK mainland, beyond which are the dispersed British Overseas Territories, one cannot fully experience Britain. Since Britain initially asserted sovereignty over these islands, they either chose to stay a British colony or refrained from declaring independence. There are 14 British Overseas Territories in total. The largest capitals Gibraltar, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and the Falklands are all well-known tourist hotspots. Although British culture occasionally comes through, each has its unique personality. For instance, Tristan da Cunha, Saint Helena, is the territory's tiniest and most isolated island. In contrast, Bermuda is home to one of the wealthiest communities on the entire globe. Research and government stations exist in South Georgia, the South Sandwich Islands, and the British Antarctic Territory.
In contrast, British Indian Ocean Territory is solely used as a military outpost. The inhabitants of these islands enjoy privileges as residents of the United Kingdom as a whole, full citizenship and the right to reside in the country. These territories are not constitutionally a part of the UK, but they adhere to the same rules regarding human rights and financial regulations as the European Union. Tourists can enjoy a variety of sites and activities on the islands that are accessible to travellers. Curious and daring travellers can explore Gibraltar's tunnels and caves or test their mettle by ascending the Mediterranean Steps. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site town of St. George to learn more about Bermuda or spend the day unwinding or participating in water sports at one of the pink sand beaches. Montserrat makes a fantastic starting point for diving or snorkelling excursions on the deserted Redonda Island or exploring the Soufriere Hills Volcano on the island's southern tip. Flying from the UK mainland or other islands to the British Overseas Territories is simple because they all have airports. Some well-known cruise ships make stops in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and the Falkland Islands along their journeys. Our Holiday Vibes are Good Vibes Only!
