Explore Iraq
The autonomous region of Kurdistan in the north of Iraq is a safe place in a country that is falling apart. In comparison, the country's south battles to recover from the problems of the previous decade. Kurdistan is quickly asserting itself as one of the fascinating regions in the Middle East as it is now recognised for its plethora of cultural and historical attractions. Our tours of Iraq reveal a region home to some of the world's oldest cities. The different influences that have ruled here over the years are evident in the impressive citadels and imposing monasteries that dot the landscape.
Iraqi Kurdistan has a long history. One of the earliest civilisations in the world, Sumer, originally had a city in Erbil. It claims to be the world's oldest continuously inhabited city (along with a handful of others that vie for the title). The famous warrior Saladin, the scourge of the Crusaders, is from the area where Alexander the Great battled against the Persian monarch Darius. This lesser-known region of the Middle East has a lot to offer history enthusiasts. It also has visually magnificent terrain, including imposing canyons, vast caverns, and towering peaks that call for exploration. Visitors are gladly welcomed to what may turn into the newest tourism destination in the Middle East by its proud and hardy inhabitants. Our Holiday Vibes are Good Vibes Only!
